Agonizing Leg
Ugh. Remember the muscle ache on my right thigh I mentioned last post? Well, say hello to its friend Lefty.
As I'm writi- Sorry. As I'm typing right now, my left thigh is throbbing with pain from a pulled muscle. At least I knew what happened to it this time.
I had a captains ball competition today at Kuo Chuan Pres, near the MOELC. Went immediately after ARC training in the morning, which i sucked, by the way. Surprisingly, I saw Joey at the competition too. Turns out she was from True Way. Who we were playing against immediately.
I was the catcher (because boys were not allowed to score =/) and did preeetty ok. Caught 7 and the other side only scored 3 so we won. There was a looong break for 40minutes after that, so I was slacking around.
Actually, me and the people from my church were observing the other teams. We wished we hadn't
The next 3 (and there were ONLY FOUR) games was played against very very good teams. Three guesses about the results, and the first two don't count.
My "accident" happened quite early in the second game. I stretched a little too much to reach for the ball but didn't make it. I dropped off from the chair and my leg ached. And ached. And ached. Bad.
The ref stoppped the game and I hobbled over to the side. Didn't feel too good about getting such a lame injury. Pardon the pun.
However, at least I got back in the second game, and we fought a little harder - but not hard enough. Lost 12-16, but it was a close one, so we were pretty much satisfied.
The true fun, however, came in our last game. It was against the strongest opponent around, and since we figured it would be impossible to try to beat them, me and Josiah (a guy from my team), decided to goof the whole thing.
I can't name the way we changed our playing style, but there was a difference somehow. We started to play a little more loosely and didn't care much about the score. We spent most of our time laughing and encouraging people even from the opposing team, and soon i think it caught on.
Our team mates started to do the same thing, and there was a different atmosphere into the game. Sportsmanship replaced competitiveness. Newfound friendship took unfamiliarity's place. Most importantly of all, laughter filled the air, instead of shouts.
And guess what? We didn't win. Duh. But we truly had fun there. Probably because we were playing the game, rather than competing with a team. We tried our best, we did what we could. Win or lose, that's not the point. It was more about having fun.
By the way, you know how many stories love to end their stories with a cliffhanger? Here's my try, though may not be that good, but like what I've said, we should try our best.
